Snow Geese Flying Upward at Sunrise

Snow Geese Flying Upward at Sunrise

In late February and early March each year, thousands of Snow Geese, Chen caerulescens, gather Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, Kleinfeltersville, Pennsylvania,to feed in the outlying corn fields and prepare for the long flight to their nesting grounds on the Arctic tundra in the northern part of Canada. Here is a group silhouetted against the orange sky at sunrise.
